22-Year-Old Woman Fatally Shot in Neck Outside Friend's Home in Mossoró

A 22-year-old woman, identified as Anny Kerollayne Rodrigues de Morais, was fatally shot in the neck on Sunday evening, November 5th, in Mossoró, a city in the Western region of Rio Grande do Norte, Brazil. The incident occurred on Rua Gilcimara Raquel in the Abolição IV neighborhood. According to the Civil Police, Anny Kerollayne was with a friend near a public square before they proceeded to the friend's residence. While Anny Kerollayne was standing outside the house, leaning against a chair, she was struck by a single gunshot to the left side of her neck. The bullet reportedly passed through her neck and hit the chair she was leaning on. She died at the scene before any medical assistance could arrive. The initial suspicion, according to delegate Jomário Montenegro, is that the weapon used was a revolver, a detail that awaits confirmation from forensic analysis. As of the latest report, no suspects have been arrested, and the motive for the crime remains unknown to the police. Military police secured the area until the Civil Police and Scientific Police arrived to conduct forensic procedures and remove the body. The case will be investigated by the Specialized Homicide and Personal Protection Department (DHPP) to identify the perpetrator and clarify the circumstances of the shooting.
