Cameroon OHADA Week Concludes with National Competition and International Team Selection

The Association of OHADA Clubs of Cameroon (LCOC) has released a report detailing the outcomes of the 9th National Week of the Organization for the Harmonization in Africa of Business Law (OHADA). Held in June 2026 at the University of Douala, the event convened students, academics, legal practitioners, and business professionals. Key activities included a scientific conference, a panel discussion, and the 9th edition of the national inter-university competition, the "Concours National des Indomptables OHADA" (CNIO).

Five universities participated in the CNIO, with the University of Douala emerging as the winner, surpassing the University of Yaoundé II, the Institut des Relations Internationales du Cameroun (IRIC), the Catholic University of Central Africa (UCAC), and the University of Garoua. The University of Yaoundé II received a special award for the Best Thesis, while the University of Garoua was recognized for its work on the "Sycebnl" system for non-profit entities. Individual accolades included a gold medal for a University of Douala student, a silver medal for a University of Garoua student, and a bronze medal for another University of Douala participant in the public speaking category.

The competition also served to select Cameroon's national team for the 17th international "Génies en Herbe OHADA" competition, scheduled for September 2026 in Lomé, Togo. Four candidates were chosen for this team. Additionally, LCOC announced four professional internship opportunities for outstanding national competition participants. These initiatives align with LCOC's mission to promote OHADA law, foster academic excellence, provide practical training, and support the professional development of young people in Cameroon.
