Campground owners in Patagonia deny hiding body of influencer dog Poze

Owners of the Chacra Wharton campground in El Bolsón, Patagonia, have denied accusations that they hid the body of Poze, an influencer dog from Campinas, Brazil. The dog's owner, Giovanni Fernandes, claims that the campground owner's husband attacked Poze with dogs and then concealed the animal's remains. He also alleges that the man feigned assistance in the search and threatened the family with a firearm. Mariana, a co-owner of the campground, stated that while their dogs did chase an unidentified animal on the night Poze disappeared around 8:30 PM on June 12th, she cannot confirm if it was Poze. She asserted that they did not hide any body and searched their property extensively without finding the dog. Mariana also refuted the claims of threats, stating they do not own firearms. Poze, known for his role as a "frentiscão" (gas station attendant dog) and with over 1.1 million social media followers, disappeared during a family road trip with three other dogs. The family confirmed Poze's death on June 19th after an extensive search. Fernandes has publicly stated his intention to pursue legal action for justice. The campground owners maintain that the Brazilian family's accusations are based on gossip and that their dogs are kept loose at night to protect livestock from predators, which involves chasing any animals entering the property. The family's version, however, claims the campground owner confessed to a witness that his dogs killed Poze and that the body would never be found, leading to a confrontation where they were allegedly threatened with a gun.
