Campos: Motorcyclist Robbed of New Bike, Belongings by Four Assailants

A motorcyclist was surrounded and robbed of his new motorcycle and belongings by four criminals in the Parque Imperial neighborhood of Campos dos Goytacazes, Northern Fluminense, Brazil. The incident, captured on security camera, occurred on Tuesday night, November 15th, on Rua Luiz Carlos Barros Viana. The victim was delivering food for his mother's snack bar when he was approached by two men on one motorcycle, one of whom brandished a weapon. A second motorcycle carrying two more individuals then arrived to assist. The assailants stole the victim's cell phone, a storage box from the motorcycle, the snack bar's card machine, the delivered food, and cash intended for change. The motorcycle had been purchased less than a month prior, and the phone was also recently acquired. Residents of Parque Imperial have expressed a heightened sense of insecurity due to frequent robberies and thefts, citing a lack of consistent police presence, particularly at night. The Military Police stated that their visible policing strategies are continually reviewed based on criminal analysis and incidence indicators, directing personnel to vulnerable areas. They also highlighted ongoing operations, increased vehicle and individual checks, motorcycle surveillance, and nighttime patrols by various specialized units, with reinforcements deployed as needed.
