Car Crashes, Flips onto Beach, and Knocks Down Palm Tree in Praia Grande

A driver in Praia Grande, on the coast of São Paulo, suffered a sudden medical episode, causing him to lose control of his car. The vehicle was traveling at high speed on Honduras Street when it collided with another car. Following the impact, the driver's vehicle mounted the sidewalk, performed aerial flips, and ultimately overturned on the sand, uprooting a palm tree. Surveillance footage captured the entire incident, showing the car's trajectory across the promenade and onto the beach. Witnesses described the dramatic scene, with one stating the car "did three somersaults over us and hit the palm tree." Another witness attempted to help by throwing sand on the car's engine as it began to catch fire, noting the driver was unconscious. The 53-year-old driver, who was alone, was rescued by the Mobile Emergency Care Service (Samu). He sustained only minor injuries and was taken to the Central Emergency Room for observation. The occupants of the other vehicle involved in the initial collision, including the driver, her husband, parents-in-law, and son, were unharmed and only experienced shock. The driver's vehicle sustained severe front-end damage, and its airbags deployed.
