Couple found buried in São Vicente; one died from gunshot, acute hemorrhage

Fabiana de Fátima Nogueira, 47, died from a gunshot wound to the chest causing acute internal hemorrhage, according to an autopsy report from the Legal Medical Institute (IML). Her body was discovered on Saturday, July 18th, buried in a grave in São Vicente, on the coast of São Paulo, Brazil. The same site, a wooded area in the Samaritá neighborhood, also contained the body of her partner, Ieda Aparecida Simplicio, 62, and a third human skull. The Civil Police are investigating the case to identify the perpetrator(s). The cause of Ieda's death has not yet been determined by the IML. The couple had been missing since the evening of July 9th, after leaving a meeting with a friend and Fabiana's older sister, stating they were going to "resolve some things" without providing further details. Their disappearance was noted on July 10th when they failed to show up for work as app delivery drivers. The investigation is being aided by the confirmation of Nogueira's cause of death and the analysis of the third skull found in the grave. The case has been registered at the General Investigations Department (DIG) of Praia Grande as homicide and suspicious death. Fabiana and Ieda, who lived together and were planning to marry, had already purchased wedding rings. Their car was found abandoned and unlocked near the Praia Grande Detention Center (CDP) on July 11th, containing their documents, bags, keys, and a cell phone.
