Criminals Use Drone to Drop Explosive on Fortaleza Home; Video Surfaces

In Fortaleza, Brazil, criminals deployed a drone to drop an explosive device onto a residence in the Grande Messejana region. Footage of this criminal act was disseminated across social media platforms. Authorities have apprehended a 28-year-old man, suspected of being affiliated with a criminal faction, and detained a 14-year-old minor in connection with the incident. The Military Police of Ceará have not confirmed if anyone was injured during the attack, nor have they detailed the specific type of explosive used. Following the incident, police conducted searches in the Jardim Violeta neighborhood of Fortaleza on Friday, October 31st, leading to the capture of suspects and the seizure of weapons, drugs, a drone, and other illicit items. The identity of the arrested adult has not been released, but he had an active warrant for preventive detention for belonging to a criminal organization. His prior record includes offenses for drug trafficking, homicide, criminal association, aggravated robbery, corruption of minors, illegal firearm possession, firearm sales, and crimes against public administration. During the arrest, authorities confiscated a drone kit, an explosive device, a balaclava, vehicle license plates, five precision scales, two cell phones, two pistols, 26 rounds of .40 caliber ammunition, 15 rounds of 9mm ammunition, along with crack cocaine, hashish, marijuana, and cash. The operation involved intelligence from the Ceará Public Security and Social Defense Secretariat and the State Penitentiary Administration and Resocialization Secretariat. The adult suspect was charged with illegal possession of restricted firearms, drug trafficking, and criminal association. An investigation has been initiated for the minor's involvement, and the 6th Capital Civil Police Station is overseeing the case.
