Elderly Woman Strangled, Robbed in Home Invasion in Miguelópolis, Brazil

An 82-year-old woman was subjected to a violent home invasion and robbery in Miguelópolis, São Paulo, Brazil, on Saturday, November 25th. Two criminals broke into her home, where they threatened her with a knife and a firearm. The victim was violently strangled and dragged across the floor before being held hostage in a bedroom. The assault caused her to lose consciousness. The perpetrators fled with R$1,800 in cash and jewelry valued between R$4,000 and R$5,000. Security camera footage captured the incident, showing the elderly resident attempting to secure her home before the assailants forced entry. The woman's granddaughter confirmed that her grandmother regained consciousness and is recovering well, though she was unconscious during the attack. A household employee arrived during the robbery, alerted by the family dog, and was also taken hostage to remain silent. The victim, upon regaining consciousness, instructed the employee to hand over her pension money to the robbers. The criminals also stole semi-jewelry from the granddaughter's room. As of the latest update, no suspects have been apprehended, and the case has been registered with the police. Authorities are awaiting a statement from the state's Public Security Secretariat regarding the ongoing investigation.
