Fatal Bicycle-Motorcycle Collision on MG-402 Leaves One Dead, Three Injured

A tragic accident occurred on Tuesday night, November 21st, on the MG-402 highway in São Francisco, resulting in one fatality and three injuries. The collision involved two motorcycles and a bicycle. According to the Military Police, all three vehicles were traveling in the direction of São Francisco towards Luislândia when a bicycle was struck from behind by one of the motorcycles, which carried two women. Subsequently, the rider of the second motorcycle, startled by the initial impact, lost control and fell. A witness reported that the cyclist was in the middle of the road and that the motorcyclist attempted to swerve but could not avoid the collision. The cyclist, identified as 62-year-old José Geraldo Gonçalves do Rosário, was thrown from the road and died at the scene. The impact also caused the first motorcycle to leave the road, falling onto its rider and passenger. Bystanders removed the vehicle and provided initial aid until emergency medical services arrived. The two women on the motorcycle sustained serious injuries and were transported to the hospital in Brasília de Minas. The rider of the second motorcycle also received treatment at the same facility for minor injuries. Civil Police forensics were called to the scene, and after their investigation, the deceased's body was released to a funeral home.
