Feira de Santana Opens Registration for Over 300 Free Mass Wedding Slots

Feira de Santana, the second-largest city in Bahia, Brazil, is offering over 300 spots in its 25th Collective Wedding ceremony. This initiative provides a free civil marriage service for couples facing social vulnerability. Registration will be open from July 14 to September 4, weekdays, at the Municipal Secretariat of Social Development (Sedeso). Couples residing in Feira de Santana and its districts, including Bonfim de Feira, Humildes, Ipuaçu, Jaguara, Jaíba, Matinha, Maria Quitéria, and Tiquaruçu, are eligible to apply. In-person registration can be completed at Sedeso's main office on Avenida Senhor dos Passos and at its unit on Rua Georgina Erisman, both located in the city center. Required documents vary for singles, divorced, and widowed individuals, including identity documents, birth or marriage certificates, proof of residence, and Cadastro Único (NIS) proof. Divorced individuals need their marriage certificate with divorce annotation and court or public deed regarding asset division, while widowed individuals require their marriage certificate with death annotation and the spouse's death certificate, along with inventory judgment if applicable. Couples opting for a marital property regime other than partial community property must present a prenuptial agreement deed. The exact date and location of the collective wedding ceremony will be announced after the registration period concludes and meetings with participating couples are held.
