From Rural Farm to Public Service: Nicolly Gleisy's Journey to Auditor

Nicolly Gleisy, a 28-year-old woman raised on a farm in Planaltina, Distrito Federal, has achieved a significant milestone by passing ten public service examinations and assuming the role of external control auditor at the Tribunal de Contas do Distrito Federal. Her upbringing in a rural setting, near Setor Habitacional Mestre D'Armas, involved balancing personal life and studies with farm chores like caring for chickens and harvesting fruits. Her family's strong emphasis on education, despite their simple lifestyle, fueled her academic pursuits, which included piano, painting, and learning languages such as English, French, and Japanese. Although she briefly pursued civil engineering, she found it wasn't the right fit. In 2018, Nicolly ventured into entrepreneurship, investing her savings and parental support to buy a thousand chicks and start an egg production business. She managed all aspects, from sourcing clients to making deliveries, a challenging endeavor that required extensive effort. However, the COVID-19 pandemic made the business unsustainable, leading her to abandon it in 2022 to focus entirely on her studies. Dedicating approximately seven hours daily to preparation, Nicolly withdrew from other activities to concentrate on her goal. This intense focus resulted in her passing ten public service exams. She now works in public works oversight, ensuring compliance with contracts and regulations to prevent irregularities. Gleisy continues to pursue knowledge, currently studying law and contemplating her future career path, believing in lifelong learning and professional development.
