Grandmother Emotional as Granddaughter Achieves Second Medical School Acceptance in Piauí

Remilly Pacheco, a 20-year-old student from the rural area of Wall Ferraz, Piauí, has achieved her second acceptance into a federal medical school in less than a year, eliciting an emotional reaction from her grandmother, Judite Pacheco. The grandmother expressed her joy and blessed her granddaughter, wishing her divine guidance and success in life. Remilly had previously been accepted into medicine at the Federal University of Delta do Parnaíba (UFDPar) in January but continued to pursue a place at the Floriano campus, which she secured on Tuesday, May 14th. She decided to apply to Floriano after contemplating the merits of both cities. A public school student, Remilly took the National High School Exam (Enem) three times. Her first attempt in 2023 was as a trainee. In 2024, while still in her third year of high school, she was accepted into veterinary medicine and civil engineering programs but remained focused on gaining admission to medical school. Her passion for medicine grew during her adolescence, fueled by her interest in biology. As a child, she had expressed a desire to become either a doctor or a police officer. To prepare, Remilly balanced a preparatory course with self-study, notably abstaining from social media, a sacrifice she deemed crucial for her success. She found social media distracting and prioritized maximizing her limited study time at home. Despite having two medical school acceptances, Remilly ultimately chose to study in Parnaíba, citing a strong connection to that campus. Her classes are scheduled to begin in August, and she advises aspiring students to practice extensively, study diligently, and seek divine discernment.
