Islamic University Hosts 'Folk Evening' with Collective Songs by Artists

Islamic University (IU) in Bangladesh recently hosted a 'Folk Evening' event, organized by the 'Byatikram Sahitya Sanskriti Jyot' (Exceptional Literary Cultural Alliance). The event, held under the slogan 'We are the exception in the turbulent waves of anti-culture,' featured a collective musical performance by artists. The cultural program commenced on Wednesday evening at the university's Bottola grounds. A highlight of the evening was the artists' rendition of Islamic songs, folk music, and Lalon Geeti (songs by the mystic poet Lalon Shah), which captivated the audience. Organizers stated that the 'Byatikram Sahitya Sanskriti Jyot' is a healthy cultural organization actively working on campus. They also announced plans for another significant event, 'July Jagoron,' scheduled for the end of the current month, dedicated to July memories. Abu Sufiyan, director of the alliance, expressed gratitude for the opportunity to organize such a unique cultural event. He mentioned that the alliance has been active nationwide with Islamic cultural activities for a long time and aimed to showcase indigenous Bengali music at the university. Sufiyan extended heartfelt thanks to all attendees for their presence.
