Lorena Offers Up to 100% Discount on Property and Service Tax Interest and Fines

The Municipality of Lorena, São Paulo, Brazil, is offering residents a significant opportunity to settle outstanding municipal debts. This program allows for renegotiation of liabilities related to IPTU (Property Tax), ISSQN (Service Tax), and other municipal charges that were due by December 31, 2025. Debtors can benefit from up to a 100% amnesty on interest and late payment fines. The initiative aims to help citizens regularize their tax status with the municipality. To take advantage of this program, interested individuals must visit the Subsecretariat of Taxation located at the municipal building, Avenida Capitão Messias Ribeiro, 625, Olaria, Lorena/SP. The office is open Monday through Friday, from 9:00 AM to 4:30 PM. The discount structure varies based on the payment method: a 100% reduction on interest and fines is available for lump-sum payments. For installment plans, a 90% reduction applies to payments up to 12 installments, 80% for up to 24 installments, and 70% for up to 36 installments. Importantly, the agreement is contingent upon the taxpayer remaining current with their 2026 installment payments. Failure to pay installments on time will incur penalties, and repeated defaults (three times) will lead to cancellation of the agreement, resulting in the debt being sent for protest, judicial collection, and immediate revocation of benefits. Once formalized, the agreement cannot be renegotiated. The deadline to participate in this debt relief program is September 30, 2026.
