Man Arrested in Votorantim for Home Invasion, Rape, and Threat with Knife

A man was apprehended on Tuesday, May 21st, in Votorantim, São Paulo, on suspicion of invading a woman's home and sexually assaulting her overnight. According to the Military Police, the suspect entered the residence, lay on the victim's bed with a knife, and forced her to remain in the house. The victim reported being sexually abused throughout the night and was also threatened with death by the assailant, who stated he would kill her for seeing his face. After the suspect fell asleep, the victim escaped and sought help from neighbors. Responding Military Police officers found the man asleep on the bed, still holding a knife. Upon waking, the suspect resisted arrest and attempted to flee through a window but was subdued and disarmed by the officers. During a search, police discovered over R$2,000 and 100 Venezuelan bolivars in the suspect's pants pocket, which the victim identified as her stolen money. Both the suspect and the victim were taken to the UPA Central in Votorantim for medical evaluation before the alleged assailant was transported to the local police station.
