Manaus Clinic Faces Probe After Patient Reports Severe Infection Post-Intimate Surgery

A patient in Manaus has come forward with serious allegations of infection and loss of sensation following an intimate surgery, known as ninfoplastia, performed at an EstetiClin network clinic. The patient claims she received inadequate post-operative care and that her concerns were dismissed by the clinic. This report emerges as the Amazonas Civil Police conducted an operation targeting irregular surgical procedures at two EstetiClin locations in Manaus. The owner of the clinic, a dentist, has been summoned for questioning. The patient stated she chose the clinic after viewing promotional materials and did not undergo a thorough medical evaluation prior to the procedure. Shortly after the surgery, she experienced severe inflammation and discharge, which she reported to the clinic. However, she alleges her requests for help were ignored, and she was told everything was fine, despite developing a fever, vomiting, severe headaches, and confusion. Seeking emergency care at the Hospital da Mulher, medical professionals confirmed a severe infection with pus. After months of treatment, the infection was controlled, but the patient reports permanent loss of sensation in her clitoris. She has reportedly gathered evidence, including medical records and a forensic report. Investigations suggest the clinic advertised laser procedures as purely aesthetic, but the equipment used was a CO2 laser capable of incisions, classifying it as a surgical procedure. The surgeries were allegedly performed without a medical support team in an unsuitable room. Police seized equipment and documents for analysis. The EstetiClin network stated its activities are temporarily suspended due to a compliance inspection and that they are cooperating with authorities, assuring patients that all services and payments will be honored upon resumption.
