Residents of Avenida Hermelinda Sena in the Maria Cândida neighborhood of Montes Claros, Brazil, are celebrating the commencement of paving and drainage works. Maria Angelina Matias dos Santos, an asthmatic and diabetic resident whose husband uses a wheelchair, highlighted the health benefits, stating that the dust exacerbates her conditions and makes it difficult for her husband to navigate the area. She anticipates easier breathing and improved accessibility once the asphalt is laid. Ivone Gomes Pereira also voiced her enthusiasm, noting the long-standing difficulties faced by the community. The works are situated alongside the railway line, addressing a long-standing demand from the neighborhood's inhabitants.
