Mother Mourns Loss of Two Children in Fatal Goiás Highway Collision

A mother is grieving the tragic loss of her two children, 8-year-old Ana Cecília Gonçalves Ferreira and 13-year-old Deivid Gonçalves Ferreira, who died in a head-on collision on GO-139 in Vianópolis, Goiás, Brazil. The accident, which occurred on the night of July 30th, involved a car and a truck, resulting in a total of five fatalities. Ana Cecília, the sole survivor of the initial crash, was hospitalized in critical condition but passed away three days later on August 2nd. Her mother, Pablyne Pablyne Antônio, expressed her profound grief on social media, writing, "My little ones have now become a beautiful star in the sky, I will always remember you." The victims in the car were identified as Davi Gonçalves Oliveira (35, the father), Elizene Moreira da Silva (28, the stepmother), Deivid Gonçalves Ferreira (13), Ana Cecília Gonçalves Ferreira (8), and their friend Thayla Izabelly Gomes de Souza (6). The truck driver and his 5-year-old son sustained minor injuries. According to the truck driver's statement to police, the family's car was traveling at high speed and swerving erratically before veering into the oncoming lane, leading to the collision. The driver also reported observing beer cans inside the car. The investigation is ongoing and being treated as a case of vehicular manslaughter.
