Pará Governor's Office Fulfilled 6 of 27 Campaign Promises, Report Shows

A recent report by g1 reveals that the administration of Pará's former governor, Helder Barbalho, and current governor, Hana Ghassan, has fully delivered on only 6 out of 27 campaign promises made in 2022. The analysis covers the period from January 1, 2023, to June 30, 2026, representing three and a half years of the mandate. Of the total commitments, 17 were partially fulfilled, leaving outstanding issues, while 4 promises remain unfulfilled. Helder Barbalho resigned in April to pursue a Senate seat, with Hana Ghassan taking over as governor and now seeking re-election. The g1 project has been monitoring political promises nationwide since 2015, employing a specific methodology to track governmental commitments. Key areas reviewed include infrastructure, education, health, and environmental initiatives. For instance, while the administration completed 64 out of 90 promised school constructions and reconstructions, it fell short of building 500 bridges, delivering only 89. Similarly, the promise to build hospitals in Ananindeua and Paragominas was not met. The Bioeconomy plan, however, was successfully implemented, including the launch of the Amazon Bioeconomy and Innovation Park.
