Paraná Industry Expo to Focus on Productivity Amidst Economic Slowdown

The Expo + Indústria 2026 event, organized by the Federation of Industries of the State of Paraná (Fiep), will take place from August 25-27 in Pinhais, Brazil. The expo aims to address the slowdown in Paraná's industrial sector by focusing on productivity as a key driver of competitiveness. This initiative comes at a time when Paraná's industrial output has shown a retraction of 1.3% year-to-date and 1.7% over the last 12 months, despite a 1.4% growth in May compared to April, which outperformed the national average of -0.2%. However, the Brazilian industry as a whole has seen growth in both indicators.

Jackson Bisi, the executive responsible for organizing the event, emphasized the importance of connecting industries with technologies and solutions that can yield tangible productivity gains. The expo will feature technologies, specialists, and companies presenting solutions for operational efficiency, innovation, and production process transformation. While some sectors like coke, petroleum derivatives, and biofuels (19.3%) and automotive vehicles (7.2%) have seen growth, others such as electrical machinery and equipment (-20.9%), beverages (-11.5%), and general machinery (-9.6%) have experienced significant declines.

The event's program includes a keynote by economist Ricardo Amorim, an Innovation Square, industrial technology demonstrations, business matchmaking sessions, technical panels, and networking opportunities. It will also host a meeting between candidates for Paraná's governorship and industrial leaders, alongside the Sistema Fiep Journalism Award and the IEL Award ceremonies. The Expo + Indústria seeks to provide a platform for businesses of all sizes to find strategies for increasing value and efficiency in their operations.
