Globally, the first dose of the measles vaccine reached 86% coverage in 2025, falling short of the 95% needed to prevent outbreaks, according to the WHO and UNICEF. This resurgence highlights the critical need for highly qualified pediatric care, emphasizing prevention, family guidance, and rebuilding public trust in immunization. Pediatricians must be adept at diagnosing and treating childhood illnesses, managing complex cases that can rapidly escalate, and staying current with the latest pediatric guidelines. Beyond infectious diseases, they increasingly manage children with allergies, obesity, neurodevelopmental disorders, respiratory conditions, and chronic illnesses requiring multidisciplinary approaches. The role extends beyond clinical care to promoting healthy habits, monitoring vaccination schedules, and supporting children's long-term well-being. The Faculty Pitágoras Eunápolis offers a Postgraduate Program in Pediatrics designed to equip physicians with updated knowledge in areas such as respiratory diseases, infections, emergencies, growth and development, immunizations, neonatology, and nutrition.
