Piauí's Electorate Profile for 2026 General Elections Revealed

The Superior Electoral Court (TSE) has released data indicating that 2,708,160 voters in Piauí, Brazil, will be eligible to participate in the general elections on October 4, 2026. The largest demographic group among these voters falls within the 40 to 44 age bracket, comprising 276,569 individuals. This represents an increase of 134,350 new voters since the 2022 general elections. Following the 40-44 age group, other significant segments include voters aged 25-29 (266,377), 35-39 (263,968), and 30-34 (255,490).

Regarding self-declared race and ethnicity, 434,217 Piauí voters identify as 'pardo' (brown), 108,593 as 'branco' (white), and 72,374 as 'preto' (black), with 868 identifying as indigenous. Women constitute the majority of the electorate, with 1,400,770 eligible to vote, accounting for 52% of the total. This is an increase of 70,730 female voters since 2022, while the male electorate grew from 1,243,769 to 1,307,389 over the same period. Notably, the number of voters with disabilities has also risen to 34,375, an increase of 8,470 from the previous election. Among the top five municipalities by voter population, Teresina leads with 592,180 eligible voters, followed by Parnaíba (118,062), Picos (54,453), Piripiri (53,256), and Floriano (45,071).
