Police Investigate Ex-Employee for Allegedly Stealing Over R$75,000 from João Pessoa Company

The Civil Police of Paraíba have launched an operation, dubbed "Operação Quebra de Confiança," to investigate an alleged scheme involving the embezzlement of funds from a conglomerate of medical laboratories and clinics in João Pessoa. Three search and seizure warrants were executed on Thursday, May 30th, in the Mangabeira neighborhood. The investigation, led by the João Pessoa Robbery and Theft Division (DRF), suggests that a recently hired ex-employee, who began working in February of this year, exploited her access to the companies' cash flow systems. She is accused of redirecting a portion of the revenue to accounts belonging to relatives and to a profile of a non-existent doctor. An audit revealed that the amounts allegedly diverted by the suspect in the last four months alone exceed R$75,000. Bank accounts belonging to those involved have been frozen. Searches were conducted at the residences of the ex-employee, her mother, and her sister-in-law, resulting in the seizure of three mobile phones. The Civil Police are continuing their investigation into the matter.
