Prolagos Expands Water Network in Cabo Frio's Manoel Corrêa Neighborhood

Prolagos is advancing its water network implementation in the Manoel Corrêa neighborhood of Cabo Frio, Brazil, aiming to provide treated water access to over 5,000 residents. The project involves installing approximately 4.4 kilometers of distribution network, a significant upgrade for a community that has historically relied on well water for daily needs. Residents like Jerri Adriano Eugênio da Silva, who has lived in the area for 23 years, expressed anticipation for treated water, noting the current necessity of purchasing bottled water for drinking and cooking. Maria Madalena da Conceição also highlighted her hope to cease buying bottled water once the piped water becomes available.

The new infrastructure is designed to support the region's growth and enhance operational efficiency. The project includes real-time monitoring equipment to track water volume and pressure, aiding in leak detection and preventive maintenance. Prolagos representative Maicon Urbaneto stated the initiative is crucial for improving quality of life and local development. Alongside infrastructure work, Prolagos is facilitating new customer registrations, with Commercial Coordinator Simone Moreira emphasizing their team's presence to guide residents through the connection process and its benefits. Eligible residents can enroll in the Social Tariff program, offering a 50% discount on water bills for households earning up to three minimum wages, participating in government social programs, and consuming less than 10 cubic meters of water monthly. The project's completion is anticipated by the end of 2026.
