Santa Catarina, Brazil, is experiencing a stable weather pattern influenced by dry and cold air, bringing low temperatures and the possibility of frost. The state's Civil Defense reported minimum temperatures ranging from 0°C to 2°C. The National Institute of Meteorology (Inmet) issued a yellow alert for temperature decline, indicating a slight health risk due to a sharp drop of 3°C to 5°C across the state. This alert is valid until Monday morning and also affects parts of northern Rio Grande do Sul and Paraná. Monday will be mostly sunny, with temperatures potentially dropping below 0°C in the South Plateau, Mid-West, and North Plateau regions. Other high-altitude areas will see temperatures between 0°C and 2°C, while the West and Coast will experience 3°C to 8°C. Low to moderate risks of health issues like aggravated respiratory and cardiac conditions, and hypothermia are noted. Afternoon highs will not exceed 14°C in the Greater West and North Plateau, 13°C in the South Plateau, and will range from 16°C to 19°C on the coast. Tuesday will maintain firm weather with sun and some clouds, and frost is possible in the Greater West and Plateaus, with fog in the South Plateau, South Coast, and Greater Florianópolis. Minimums will be between 0°C and 5°C in the Greater West and Plateaus, possibly below zero in the Serra. Coastal areas will see 5°C to 10°C, with afternoon temperatures between 17°C and 20°C. The stable, cold weather is expected to continue through Wednesday and Thursday, with sunny days and cold mornings. By Thursday, temperatures are forecast to gradually rise, reaching up to 26°C to 27°C in western and southern coastal areas.
