Sesc Salvador Launches Free Professional Training Courses in July

The Serviço Social do Comércio (Sesc) in Salvador is offering a series of free professional training courses throughout July. These opportunities, provided through the Centro de Formação Artesanal (CFA), aim to promote social inclusion, income generation, and citizenship alongside professional qualification. The programs are designed for individuals with a gross family income of up to three minimum wages. Classes for two main programs are scheduled to begin on August 17 and run until November 27, 2026. The Cursos de Valorização Social program will accept registrations from July 8 to July 17 at the CFA in Salvador's Historic Center. This initiative focuses on areas such as manual skills, crafts, culinary arts, and artistic expression, emphasizing sustainability, creative economy, social innovation, conscious consumption, and fair trade. Meanwhile, the Cursos de Desenvolvimento em Comunidades program will have enrollment periods between July 6 and July 24, with applications taken directly at partner institutions and communities across Salvador. These community-focused courses provide free training in culinary arts, manual skills, sewing, and personal presentation, complemented by lectures and educational activities that foster entrepreneurship, cooperativism, and community leadership. Sesc reports that approximately 50 non-profit social institutions benefit from these programs annually, offering participants the chance to develop skills that can supplement family income.
