Three Bombril Factory Workers Killed in Stabbing Attack; Suspect Dies in Custody

Three outsourced Bombril factory workers were fatally stabbed by a colleague on Saturday, June 1st, in São Bernardo do Campo, Brazil. The attack occurred around 5:50 AM inside the Bombril unit located in the Rudge Ramos neighborhood. The victims have been identified as José Guilherme Victoriano de Moura, 54, a stock controller; Douglas de Souza Vieira, 39, a forklift operator; and Edvaldo Santos da Silva, 44, a supervisor. Their funerals are scheduled for Sunday, June 2nd, at municipal cemeteries in São Bernardo do Campo. The alleged assailant, 33-year-old forklift operator Claudio Henrique da Silva, was apprehended by other factory workers at the scene. He was taken to the 2nd Police District of São Bernardo do Campo and died in custody hours later, reportedly by suicide. Witnesses suggested that the suspect may have been a victim of bullying by two of the deceased, though this remains under investigation. Douglas de Souza Vieira is believed to have intervened in an attempt to stop the attack on his colleagues. Bombril stated that the perpetrator and victims were outsourced employees of the TPC company and that the attacker may have experienced a 'psychotic break'. Bombril also noted that it has an ethics channel for reporting bullying and harassment, with no prior complaints related to the individuals involved. TPC expressed condolences and is cooperating with authorities.
