Two-Year-Old Girl Dies After Falling Into Swimming Pool in Três Lagoas

A two-year-old girl tragically passed away after falling into a swimming pool on Wednesday evening, around 8 PM, in the Vila Nova neighborhood of Três Lagoas, Mato Grosso do Sul. The local fire department was alerted by the child's mother and provided instructions for cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) over the phone until emergency services arrived. Upon reaching the scene, firefighters found the girl without vital signs and immediately began resuscitation efforts. These advanced life support measures continued for approximately one hour. Subsequently, the Mobile Emergency Care Service (Samu) took over, administering intravenous medication and further treatments. Despite these extensive efforts, the child could not be revived and was pronounced deceased. According to the mother's account to Samu, she was in the bathroom when her daughter fell into the pool. The mother and her two daughters were the only ones home at the time. The incident was discovered when the family dog began barking, prompting one of the daughters to investigate. She found her sister in the water and alerted their mother, who then retrieved the child from the pool and called for help. The exact cause of death will be determined by a necroscopic examination, and the case is under investigation.
