Two young women killed in head-on collision with truck in Santa Catarina

Sabrina Cardoso Silveira, 24, and Indiamara Kremer, 26, died on Sunday morning, May 19th, following a head-on collision between the car they were traveling in and a truck. The accident occurred on a stretch of BR-163 in São José do Cedro, Santa Catarina. Both women were pronounced dead at the scene, as confirmed by the Santa Catarina Fire Department (CBM-SC). A mutual friend, who preferred to remain anonymous, stated that she introduced the two women, who subsequently became close friends. Indiamara, who had a 4-year-old daughter, worked at a gas station in São José do Cedro. Sabrina was a pedagogy student and worked as a teacher at a daycare center in Descanso. The Descanso City Hall issued a statement mourning Sabrina, describing her as an exemplary individual who loved animals and cherished her two nephews. Sabrina was driving the car at the time of the crash. The Civil Police have opened an investigation into the dynamics and causes of the accident, and the truck driver will be interviewed. The truck, with license plates from Guarani das Missões, Rio Grande do Sul, was involved in the frontal impact. An excavator was required to lift the truck's cabin and retrieve the car where the victims were located.
