Uberlândia Airport's New Terminal Opens with Panoramic Views and Expanded Capacity

The new passenger terminal at Uberlândia Airport, officially named Tenente-Coronel Aviador César Bombonato, began operations on Tuesday, March 7th. All passenger boarding and deplaning activities have moved to the new structure located at Avenida Sideral, 463, in the Jardim Ipanema neighborhood. This expansion significantly increases the airport's annual capacity to 2.15 million passengers, up from 1.1 million. The new facility features enhanced boarding areas, commercial spaces, a parking lot, and two jet bridges, known as "fingers," which handle 70% of passenger movement. Travelers can access the new terminal via Avenida Sideral, with improved road signage and public transport options. The A229 bus line now serves the new terminal, while the A211 line continues to service the old terminal for hangar workers. The first floor of the new terminal houses check-in counters, baggage claim, and boarding gates 4, 5, and 6. The second floor contains boarding gates 1, 2, and 3, a multisensory room, a VIP lounge, and a panoramic viewing area with a glass facade overlooking the tarmac. The airport currently handles approximately 100,000 passengers monthly and operates around 35 daily flights to major Brazilian cities including São Paulo, Belo Horizonte, Campinas, Rio de Janeiro, Porto Seguro, Recife, and Brasília. The parking operation, with approximately 500 spaces, will be managed by BH Airport, though specific tariff details were not available at the time of reporting.
