Vectra Recognizes Construction Workers and Contractors for Excellence

On July 17th, Vectra hosted its 8th Excellence in Construction Program cycle and the 2nd Firm Foundation Contractor Program cycle at its Londrina headquarters. The event also celebrated the construction company's 30th anniversary, bringing together direct employees and third-party contractors. The program began with a presentation by labor lawyer Fernanda Khater, who emphasized the critical importance of proper documentation for contractors, focusing on workplace safety, rest periods, and collective bargaining agreements, in addition to Vectra's specific requirements. Khater stressed that mere documentation is insufficient; active oversight of personal protective equipment usage and adherence to documented procedures in practice are essential. She also highlighted the continuous need to update knowledge on labor laws and regulations, which are subject to frequent revisions.

The Excellence in Construction Program's 8th cycle awarded outstanding employees for their performance in quality, 5S, lean methodologies, and safety across various construction sites. The Oro site secured first place for the third consecutive time, followed by Wynn in second and Gaia in third. Isabela Baggio, an engineering assistant at the Oro site, noted that their consistent success stems from the team's comprehensive effort and motivation. She also pointed to daily safety and organization routines as key challenges that, when overcome, ensure quality, safety, and timely project delivery. Fernando Cruz, Vectra's executive construction manager, stated that these programs have significantly matured site management, leading to more organized, productive, and safer work environments. The Firm Foundation Contractor Program, in its second cycle, involves monthly evaluations by engineering, quality, safety, and labor management teams. Climac, specializing in residential air conditioning, took first place, with NJS (aluminum frames) and Engetec (prestressed concrete) securing second and third, respectively. Clayton Rodrigues of Climac attributed their success to employee effort and partnership with Vectra, involving weekly site visits and proactive implementation of improvements. Vanessa Paulino Regly Schuindt, Vectra's corporate governance coordinator, detailed the semi-annual evaluation process, including bi-weekly quality, 5S, and safety audits. Contractor evaluations are monthly and involve various departments. Schuindt underscored the vital role of contractors, who constitute most of the workforce, in achieving Vectra's quality, safety, and organization standards, with Vectra's internal team providing support.
