Veteran Actor Abul Hayat Urges Unity in Film Artists Association Post-Election

Renowned actor Abul Hayat has praised the festive atmosphere surrounding the Bangladesh Film Artists Association election, expressing his hope that all members will unite to work towards the development of the film industry, regardless of the election outcome. He also urged for the avoidance of post-election legal disputes. Hayat cast his vote at the FDC premises on Friday at 11:10 AM, departing at 11:45 AM. He commented that the voting environment appeared very positive, as it has always been during his visits to vote, with no unpleasant incidents observed. When asked about his voting choices, the veteran actor stated he voted for candidates he believes can genuinely contribute positively to the industry. He conveyed his expectations for the newly elected committee, emphasizing that unity is crucial for achieving significant progress in the country's film sector. Hayat specifically appealed against engaging in court-related conflicts after the election, warning that such disputes would revert the situation to its previous state, which is undesirable for everyone involved. The election for the 2026-28 term of the Bangladesh Film Artists Association involves 573 voters. Voting commenced at 9 AM and will continue until 6 PM, with a one-hour break for Jumu'ah prayers.
