Viçosa Hosts 96th Farmer's Week with Over 400 Courses and Dairy Competition

The Federal University of Viçosa (UFV) is holding its 96th Farmer's Week from July 18th to 24th, focusing on the interaction between society, science, and culture under the theme 'Forming people and transforming the agriculture and livestock that feed Brazil and the world.' The event, located on the Viçosa campus, will feature approximately 400 courses, 11 expert talks, and other training activities. Public cultural attractions include an artisan fair, university farm visits, exhibitions, and musical performances. Participants can choose from over 400 activities, including courses for rural producers, students, and professionals. Key topics cover coffee production, livestock management, agricultural technology such as drones and precision farming, sustainability practices like soil conservation and organic farming, fruit and vegetable cultivation, beekeeping, and rural management. Registration is open until Tuesday, July 14th, via the event's website, with a fee of R$160 allowing access to up to 10 courses. On-site registration may be possible from July 18th if spots remain. The week also includes related events like the "Troca de Saberes," Rural Women's and Youth Weeks, the 10th Dairy Competition, a Milk Producers' Meeting, a mini-farm display, musical shows, an agricultural and craft fair, a food court, and a vintage car exhibition. Established in 1929, Farmer's Week aims to foster knowledge exchange among stakeholders in the agricultural sector.
