Woman Allegedly Throws Acid on Man in Kasur Over Betrayal

In Kasur, Pakistan, a woman named Rimsha Bibi allegedly attacked a man, Ehsan, with acid near village Rangpur on Tuesday. Police reported that Rimsha Bibi lured Ehsan to a deserted location under the pretense of a meeting and then threw acid from a bottle she had in her purse. She reportedly fled the scene after the assault. According to police statements, Rimsha Bibi had recently divorced and was working at a departmental store. Ehsan, the victim, is said to have previously divorced three women and intended to marry Rimsha Bibi. Police claim Rimsha Bibi was unaware of Ehsan's marital history and sought revenge upon discovering his previous divorces. The injured man was transported to DHQ Hospital and subsequently referred to Lahore. Police stated the acid was diluted, resulting in minor injuries. A case has been registered against Rimsha Bibi, and an investigation is underway.

In a separate incident in Kasur, a woman named Mehwish Bibi, aged 29, along with her two young children, Aziz (8) and Azan (4), reportedly attempted suicide by jumping into the Jamber Canal. Mehwish Bibi was living with her second husband, Amjad Ali, but Ali allegedly refused to house her children from her first marriage. Following a dispute with Ali over this issue on Tuesday, Mehwish Bibi allegedly attempted to jump into the canal with her children. Bystanders intervened and prevented the suicide attempt. Rescue 1122 officials were called to the scene and brought the family to their office. Mehwish Bibi's first husband, Yasin, was contacted, and the children were placed in his care. Local police are investigating this incident.
