Woman Assaulted by Partner in Upscale Belém Neighborhood; Video Captures Violence

A woman was assaulted by her partner on the evening of Friday, March 31st, outside a restaurant in the Umarizal neighborhood of Belém. Witness videos captured the sequence of attacks, showing the victim attempting to escape the suspect who fled before military police arrived. The footage depicts the couple arguing on the street, with the man forcefully trying to make the woman enter a car. She resisted, stating she would not be beaten at home. In another recording, he pursued her in his car, exited, and again attempted to force her into the vehicle, which she refused, shouting she would not go home to be hit. The woman tried to flee but was caught and assaulted again. Onlookers intervened to stop the aggressor, who still attempted to approach the victim before being restrained. The suspect then left the scene in his car. Military police arrived shortly after but the man had already escaped. Witnesses reported that residents of a nearby building sheltered the victim until police arrived. The Civil Police are investigating the case and conducting searches to locate the suspect, who had not been arrested as of the latest update.
