Worker Kills Three Colleagues at Bombril Factory in São Bernardo do Campo, Then Dies

A tragic incident occurred early Saturday morning, May 1st, at a Bombril factory in São Bernardo do Campo, São Paulo, where an employee fatally stabbed three of his colleagues. The perpetrator, identified as 33-year-old Claudio Henrique da Silva, also an equipment operator, reportedly acted during a "breakdown" before attacking the victims. The deceased have been identified as 54-year-old José Guilherme Victoriano de Moura, a checker; 44-year-old Edvaldo Santos da Silva, a supervisor; and 39-year-old Douglas de Souza Vieira, an equipment operator. Witnesses suggested that Silva may have been the target of bullying by two of the victims, with the third victim intervening in an attempt to stop the attack. Silva, who was reportedly on leave but went to the factory specifically for the assault, was subdued by other individuals at the scene. He was taken to the police station, where he later died in custody, an event being treated as suicide. The victims' funerals are scheduled for Sunday, May 2nd, in São Bernardo. Bombril, through its legal department and in conjunction with the third-party contractor TPC, is cooperating with authorities to understand the motivations behind the crime and is providing support to the victims' families. The company highlighted its existing ethics channel for reporting bullying and harassment, stating no prior complaints were filed against those involved. The Civil Police are investigating the homicides and the circumstances of Silva's death, with the case being handled by the homicide team.
